104 insurgents killed in raids

AT-KABUL: At least 104 militants were killed and 23 others wounded in different operations launched by the security forces within past 24 hours in different areas.

The Ministry of Defense said Tuesday that Afghan National Army (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) personal has conducted joint operations against insurgents in different areas in Nangarhar, Ghazni, Maidan Wardak, Logar, Kandahar, Zabul, Uruzgan, Nimroz, Ghor, Balkh, Jawzan, Faryab, Kunduz, Baghlan and Helmand provinces

It said in a statement that in these operations 104 insurgents including two Daesh affiliates were killed and 23 others were injured.

During operations 19 armed insurgents were arrested and handed over to judicial organs for further inquiry, added statement.

During these operations in the past 24 hours, Afghan National and Defense Security forces shelled and bombed the enemies’ positions by artilleries and air force

During these operations, 31 Taliban terrorists were killed and 31 rounds of mine discovered and neutralized in Nadali, district of Helmand, 38 insurgents were killed, 14 wounded and 11 others were arrested in Andar and Nawah districts of Ghazni, 14 rebels were killed, seven injured and eight others were arrested in Nawbahar district of Zabul, 13 armed Taliban fighter killed and their four stronghold destroyed in Shirintagab district of Faryab province.

Similarly, four insurgents were killed in Nerkh and Saydabad district of Maidan Wardak, two Daesh affiliates were killed and one was wounded in Achin district of Nangarhar and two terrorist killed and one wounded in Aqcha district of Jawzjan province.

In past 24 hours, 17 planed clearing operations, 21 Special Forces operations conducted in 13 provinces; also, Air forces conducted 107 aerial operations supporting Afghan National army including nine strikes on enemy’s sanctuaries.

ANA discovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition in the operations as well.
