12 local policemen killed in Kunduz attack

KUNDUZ CITY: Twelve Afghan Local Policemen (ALP) personnel have been killed in the Taliban attack in the Imam Sahib district of northern Kunduz province, a well-placed source said on Friday.

Wishing anonymity, the source added the Taliban stormed ALP personnel’s check-post in the Imamuddin Square on Thursday night.

Meanwhile, Police Spokesman Imamuddin Rahmani confirmed the Taliban’s overnight attack on police but did not provide figures of police casualties. He said security forces inflicted heavy casualties on the enemy in the overnight clash and retook three check-posts.
