37 insurgents killed in raids

AT-KABUL: At least 37 armed Taliban fighters were killed and 41 others were wounded in different crackdowns within past 24 hours.

In a press release issued here, Ministry of Interior (MoI) said that Afghan National Police (ANP) in collaboration with Afghan National Army (ANA) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) has conducted clearance operations against insurgents in different areas of Parwan, Takhar, Kunduz, Badakhshan and Helmand provinces. In these operations 37 rebels were taken out and 41 others injured.

Four insurgents were arrested and handed over to the relevant body for interrogation. At least 32 landmines were also discovered and defused in Uruzgan, Paktia and Helmand provinces. ANP recovered huge cache of weapons as well in the operations, the ministry claimed.
