37 insurgents killed nationwide

AT-KABUL: At least 37 Taliban fighters were killed and 20 others were wounded in nationwide crackdowns against militants within past 24 hours.

In a press release issued here, Ministry of Defense (MoD) said that Afghan National Army (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) has conducted joint operations against insurgents in different areas of Nangarhar, Kunar, Khost, Paktika, Kandahar, Uruzgan, Badghis, Farah, Ghor, Kunduz, Herat, Sar-e-Pul, Baghlan and Helmand provinces. In these operations more than 37 rebels including six commanders were killed and 20 others were injured.

ANA also discovered and seized huge cache of weapons and ammunition in the operations, the ministry claimed, but did not provide complete details.
