45 insurgents killed in military raids

AT News Report-KABUL:At least45militants were killed and17others woundedinmultiple extensive military crackdownswithin past 24 hours.

In a press release issued here, Ministry of Defense, (MoD) said that Afghan NationalArmy (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan NationalPolice (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) personal has conducted joint operations against insurgents in different areas of Nangarhar, Ghazni, MaidanWardak, Urzgan, Herat, Faryab, Baghlan, Takhar, Balkh and Helmand provinces.

Statement said that in these operations45insurgents including nine Daesh fighters and a Taliban local commanderwere killed and 23others wounded.

Afghan National and Defense Security forces shelled and bombed the enemies’ positions and sanctuaries by artilleries and air forces.

During these operations in the past 24 hours,17 Taliban fighters were killed, 15 wounded and two motorbike belonged to the enemy seized in Ajristana and Andar districts of Ghazni, nine Daesh affiliates were killed and a stronghold belonged to them was destroyed in Pachiergam and Shinwar districts of Nangarhar, eight insurgents were killed and two vehicle of the enemy destroyed in Chora district of Urzgan province.

Similar,five rebels were killed and 18 mines discovered and neutralized in Nadali district of Helmand, four militants were killed and one wounded in Sayed Abad district of MaidanWardak two insurgents were killed and one wounded in Gulran district of Herat province.

In past 24 hours,nineplaned clearing operations,and 87 Special Forcesoperations conducted in differentprovinces; also, Air forces conducted114aerial operations supporting Afghan National army includingninestrikes on enemy’s sanctuaries.

ANAdiscovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition in the operations as well.

ANA as the nation’s defense forces are ready to give sacrifice to bring lasting peace and security to the people and are determined to eradicate terror groups in Afghanistan.
