51 insurgents killed in raids

AT-KABUL: At least 51 militants were killed and 34 others were wounded in different crackdowns within past 24 hours.

In a press release issued here, Ministry of Defense, (MoD)said that Afghan National Army (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) personal has conducted joint operations against insurgents in different areas Nangarhar, Laghman, Kapisa, Paktia , Paktika, Ghazni, Kandahar , Badghis , Baghlan , Faryab, Farah Badakhshan, Zabul and Helmand provinces.

Statement said that in these operations 51 Taliban were killed and 34 others were injured.

During these operations, in Poshtroad district of Farah province, 26 insurgents were killed and 24 others wounded, in Maiwand district of Kandahar, 18 insurgents were killed and o18 roadside mine discovered and seized, in Gelan district of Ghazni province, two Taliban terrorists were killed and five others were wounded.

Similarly, in Alishing district of Laghman, two insurgents were killed and another injured, in Khogiani district of Nangarhar one rebel killed and two wounded. Also two Taliban fighters were killed and two other wounded in Balamorghab district of Badghis.

In past 24 hours, 20 planed clearing operations, 22 special operations and three night raids conducted in 14 provinces; also, Air forces conducted 83 aerial operations supporting Afghan National army including 10 strikes on enemy’s sanctuaries.

ANA discovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition in the operations as well.
