57 insurgents killed in raids

AT-KABUL: At least 57 militants were killed and 22 others were wounded in different crackdowns within past 24 hours.

In a press release issued here, Ministry of Defense, (MoD)said that Afghan National Army (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) personal has conducted joint operations against insurgents in different areas Nangarhar, Kapisa, Paktia , Paktika, Kunar, Logar, Kandahar, Baghlan, Balkh, Faryab, Urzgan and Helmand provinces.

Statement said that in these operations 57 Insurgents including four Daesh affiliates were killed and 22 others were injured.

During these operations, in Ghormach districts of Faryab, 15 insurgents were killed and six others wounded, in Shah Wali Kot district of Kandahar, 12 Taliban fighters were killed, in Nawah district of Helmand, 17 rebels were killed and seven other injured.

Similar in Janikhil district of Paktia seven Taliban fighter were killed, in Watapoor district of Kunar and Nazian district of Nangarhar eastern provinces four Daesh were killed and in Barki Barak district of Logar two insurgents were killed and nine other wounded.

In past 24 hours, 14 planed clearing operations, 13 special operations and one night raids conducted in 10 provinces; also, Air forces conducted 106 aerial operations supporting Afghan National army including four strikes on enemy’s sanctuaries.

ANA discovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition in the operations as well.
