77 insurgents killed in raids

AT-KABUL: At least 77 militants have been killed and 27 others wounded in a different crackdowns carried out by the Afghan security forces within past 24 hours.

In a press release issued here, the Ministry of Defense, (MoD), said that Afghan National Army (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) personal has conducted joint operations against insurgents in different areas of Nangarhar, Kapisa, Kunar, Paktika, Nuristan Kapisa, Khost, Logar, Kandahar, Zabul, Urzgan, Faryab, Kunduz, Takhar and Helmand provinces, in which 77 insurgents including 17 Daesh fighters were killed and 27 others wounded.

The statement furthered that two insurgents were also arrested during operations, handing over to the judicial organs for further inquiry.

The joint operation of the Defense Security Forces was supported by the artillery and air forces, the statement furthered.

According to the statement, the ANA also discovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition belonging to the insurgents during operations.
