95 insurgents killed in raids

AT-KABUL: At least 95 militants have been killed and 64 others received injuries in multiple extensive military crackdowns carried out by the Afghan security forces in the past 24 hours, security officials said on Saturday.

In a press release issued here, the Ministry of Defense (MoD), said that Afghan National Army (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) personal have conducted joint operations against insurgents in different areas of Nangarhar, Kunar, Ghazni, Paktika, Kandahar, Urzgan, Farah, Badghis, Ghor, Balkh, Faryab, Badakhshan, Baghlan and Helmand provinces, in which 95 insurgents including 21 Daesh fighters were killed and 64 others wounded.

According to the statement, 12 militants were also arrested and handed over to judicial organs for further inquiry.

Afghan National and Defense Security Forces shelled and bombed the enemies’ positions and sanctuaries by artilleries and air forces.

During these operations, 21 Daesh fighters were killed in Deh Bala and Pachiragam districts of Nangarhar–19 insurgents killed and 10 others wounded in Andar and Moqor district of Ghazni– 15 Taliban fighters killed, eight wounded and six others arrested in Draim and Jurm district of Badakhshan–11 rebels including a local commander named Faroqi killed and two vehicle full of explosives with weapons have been destroyed in Gayan district of Paktika–10 terrorists killed and seven others wounded in Baghlan Markazi and Tala-wa-Barfak districts of Baghlan province.

Similarly, eight Taliban fighters have been killed and 35 others wounded in Bala Blok district of Farah–eight insurgents killed, six arrested and some weapons and ammunition destroyed in Chamtal district of Balkh–two Baloch terrorists killed and two other wounded in Maiwand district of Kandahar and Dehrawod districts of Urzgan–one insurgents killed and another wounded in Khas Kunar district of Kunar province.

In past 24 hours, 13 planed clearing operations, and 69 Special Forces operations conducted in different provinces; also, Air Forces conducted 67 aerial operations supporting Afghan National Army including six strikes on enemy’s sanctuaries.

ANA also discovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition in the operations as well.
