China supports full membership of Afghanistan at SCO

AT-KABUL: The National Security Adviser, Mohammad Hanif Atmar met with Wang Yi, China’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, in Beijing the other day.

The two sides held in-depth talks about expansion of bilateral relation, China’s economic cooperation with Afghanistan and fight against terrorism, National Security Council spokesman, Tawab Ghorzang said in his twitter count.

Wang Yi offered condolences to Afghan National Security Advisor, on the barbaric terrorist attack in Kabul that martyred and injured Afghan civilians, he said.

During talks with Atmar, Wang Yi said that China supported full membership of Afghanistan at Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), he asserted.

He added that Wang Yi reaffirmed that China was supporting Afghanistan’s stance and fight against terrorism and would provide military aid, training to Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF).

Atmar said that the Afghan government is thankful to China for supporting Afghanistan’s full membership at SCO. “Afghanistan hope this will transform Afghanistan into regions connecting point,” he added.

He furthered that ANDSF were fighting against terrorists and terrorism threats on behalf of all region and world. “So equipping ANDSF would help both.”

Furthermore, Atmar reiterated that Afghan government would not conduct any peace talks with terrorist and those who are supporting terrorism and violence.
