District judge assassinated in Kabul

AT-KABUL: Unknown armed shot dead the judge of Rashidan district of Ghazni province at her residence in Kabul, an official said Tuesday.

Brigadier General Humayun Aini chief of 110 police said that gunmen stormed Bakht Gul’s house in Dewanbigi Monday night and shot him dead.

“After the attack, Bakht Gul was shifted to the hospital but died of bleeding,” Aini said.

He said that after the attack the gunmen left the scene, adding that an investigation was going on to find out the reason of the attack against chief of court of Rashidan district in Kabul.

No individual or group claimed responsibility for the incident, but the Taliban had warned previously that after the execution of six prisoners this group in Kabul, legal and judicial institutions are considered military targets preference.
