Economy, trade strength discussed by Afghan-Turkmen officials

AT-KABUL: The Afghan and Turkmen officials talked Sunday on the strength of economy and business.

In a meeting finance minister Eklil Hakimi held with Turkmenistan ambassador to Kabul Togalakow Hemra, the two sides discussed the seventh meeting of the joint commission for economic and trade between Afghanistan and Turkmenistan, strengthen and develop commercial and industrial relations between the two countries, oil and gas purchase, Afghanistan’s access to Turkmenbashi port, construction of oil storage in Aqina port and some other important subjects, according to finance ministry.

The sixth meeting of the Joint Commission for economic and trade between Afghanistan and Turkmenistan was held in Kabul dated 14-15 June 2016 discussing on the 500 kv transmission line from Turkmenistan to Pakistan through Afghanistan, oil and gas purchase, construction of railway from Aqina to Andkhoy, optical fiber connection and the progress of Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan and India (TAPI) project with details.
