Editorial: Back in control

In the past 16 years, the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces have developed into a collection of professional institutions that are committed to their mission and highly respected. Sans their huge sacrifices, the Afghan people would not be in the existing insufficient peace and stability. Even the country could have been collapsed to the Taliban and other militant’s hand. The brave Afghan security forces have been fighting against 20 terrorist groups with high moral and already proved mettle for them (insurgents). Security forces despite facing challenges in key areas of capacity such as logistic, airpower, and intelligence, but still they are firm in safeguarding their motherland. The Afghan commoners are truly thankful from their (Afghan security forces) sacrifices on the line of duty. Afghan National Army, Afghan National Police, and National Directorate of Security operatives are the true son of the soil, who situated their chest against the bullets of sworn enemies to guard the Afghan masses. We, the Afghan people are truly indebted, and will stand shoulder-to-shoulder with them in defending country’s sovereignty. In spite of corruption that has been snaked in the security institutions, security forces have never been cold down their efforts against the Taliban and other militant outfits. Surly, we have made substantial progress in war on terror, but still needs the world’s support in fully elimination of terrorists. Top leadership of the Taliban, al-Qaeda and Daesh terrorists were killed. These killings give a lot of ground to be optimistic, and assuring that the Afghan security forces will successfully carry on fights and chasing militants in every mountain and valley of the country. Moreover, the Afghan security forces have retaken the control of Nawa district of southern Helmand province, from Taliban insurgents after nine months. The fortunate point is that security forces and civilians had received no causalities during retaken operation. The plus-point is that Afghan security forces heading operation alone. Helmand considers as one of key place for the Taliban insurgents that since long-time they have been masterminded evil acts from there. They (Taliban) are having presence in several districts. However, now with bringing Nawa back into control, the Taliban’s moral have already razed to ground and it would not be too late to see all districts of Helmand to be cleared from Taliban presence. By having strong wings of the security forces, the Afghans, despite the fact that security situation is not good, have no inner fear—instead having full confidence in security forces to thwart any sort of conspiracies. Regardless of tough war with covert and overt support by some regional countries to the militants, the Afghan security forces did not let enemies to achieve their ominous goal. When Taliban insurgents is losing ground, would be better for them to shun violence and reintegrate into civil society and adopt a peaceful life. A wise advice to the Taliban insurgents is to nod for peace and reconciliation process, before the security forces capture or kill them all. Keeping in view the regional and international atmosphere, time is not running with terrorist outfits and their foreign masters.
