AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: As many as eight Taliban militants have been killed in clearance operations launched by Afghan security forces in eastern Nangarhar province, said a local security official.
Noman Atefi, a spokesman for 201st Selab military corps, said that their clearance operations against the Taliban militants are going on Hesarak, Sherzad and Khogyani districts of the province. He added that security forces conducted the operations four days ago.
Atefi said that security forces have cleared 14 villages of the Taliban militants in Khogyani and Sherzad districts as result of the operations. He said that they have launched a month-long operation against Taliban under the name of Musalas-i-Ahaneen in Afghanistan’s east.
