AT-KABUL: Provincial health department authorities laid down the foundation stone for construction of new 50-bed hospital in Nuristan province.
In a press statement issued here, Nuristan Provincial Press office said that the hospital would be equipped with modern-day facilities.
The hospital will provide healthcare services, facilitate laboratories and pharmaceutical services for needy people of the province. The hospital will be constructed within next 30 months, costing Afs186 million. The funds would be provided by the Ministry of Public Health from its developmental budget, the statement said.
Nuristan is one of the most insecure provinces in eastern Afghanistan, where people are deprived of different social services including health facilities. Therefore, the hospital would help the locals in accessing health services without leaving for other provinces.
