Four Taliban killed by own bomb in Kunduz

AT-KABUL: Four Taliban insurgents including a commander were killed and one another wounded by their own bomb explosion in the northern Kunduz province, security officials said Monday.

The provincial police said in a statement that the insurgents were busy making mines while mines blow up in Dasht-e-Archi district killed four and injuring one.

“The commander was identified as Chopan, was involved in different insurgency attack in the province,” the statement said.

Taliban mostly use improvised explosive devices in attacks against security forces, but usually take the lives of innocent civilians.

At least five civilians and four Taliban insurgents were killed when a rocket shell Taliban were carrying exploded in eastern Kunar province, the security officials had said in September.
