Hostages escape from Taliban captivity in Herat

AT News Report-KABUL: Two policemen and four civilians escaped from the captivity of Taliban after killing two insurgents in western Herat province, said officials on Saturday.

The gubernatorial spokesperson Abdul Ahad Walizad said insurgents had kidnapped cops and four residents of Chishti Sharif district on Friday midnight. The captive policemen staged an attack on the rebel guards and killed two of them when they were moving the captives to another location.

The policemen had also seized two Kalashnikovs from insurgents who wanted to sentence them through a kangaroo court, Walizada said.
