Kabul, New Delhi to foster bilateral security cooperation

AT-KABUL: National Security Advisor Haneef Atmar welcomed Wednesday mooring the Indian Deputy National Security Advisor Rajender Khanna and conferred on important issues of mutual concern.

Khanna leading high-ranking Indian delegation visiting Kabul on Wednesday supported the Afghan-owned peace initiative in a bid to stabilize the wartorn country.

A joint security committee meeting between them has been kicked off, in which Atmar informed the meeting about general security situation of Afghanistan. Both sides agreed for further expansion of bilateral security cooperation. Atmar also assured India to work hard in ensuring security of Indian citizens in Afghanistan.

From his side, Khanna assured his country’s supports to Afghanistan in the fight against terrorism, and contribute highly in bringing peace in Afghanistan and in the region.

He said that India not only believes but also acts on the principle of an Afghan-led and Afghan-owned effort for peace and security.
