MoI freezes illegal use of police vehicles

AT-KABUL: All police equipments, including vehicles would be taken back from those officials that are using them in violation of the relevant criterion, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) informed on Wednesday.

“The MoI wants to inform officials who possess police vehicles and other tools in violation of the criteria to submit them to the department concerned sooner rather than later,” a statement from the ministry said.

It added the decision was in line with orders from President Ashraf Ghani and international aid-providing partners, specially the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR).

All police equipment and tools should be immediately handed over to the authorities and in case of negligence the ministry should be informed, Pajhwok quoted the statement as saying.
