MPs concerned over mounting insecurity

By Farhad Naibkhel-KABUL: Members of the Wolesi Jirga (Lower House) of Parliament on Saturday’s session expressed deep concern over ramp up insecurity across the country.

They urged the government to adopt necessary security measurements for ensuring security throughout the country.

The legislators alleged the National Unity Government (NUG) leaders and some security officials with neglect regarding reinforcement of security in different provinces and urged the relevant organs to not remain silent on the issue and take serious step for solution.

“Still instability and Taliban threats can be felt in different part of Farha province,” said Representative of Farah in Wolesi Jirga Osman Farahi.

He said that government must revamp about deploying and number of security forces in the provinces, otherwise Farah people will be faced a tragedy.

Rangina Kargar, Faryab Representative said that parts of Maimana city burns in flame of conflicts and great number of families displaced in the area.

She said that the challenge of displaced informed to the government, but till date no steps have been taken in the aspect.

If the government won’t pay attention to Faryab issue, the province will lead to a crisis in near future, she added.

Helmand Representative Nasima Niazi expressing concern over insecurity in Kunduz, Farah and Helmand Provinces.

She said that most of the districts are under control of Taliban, only Lashkar Gah city and the roads are under control of Afghan forces.

She said that number of families displaced due to conflict Helmand province and they are living in a critical condition who need to assistance.

Wardak representative Ghulam Hussain Naseri said that came hard on government failures regarding reinforcement of citizens’ security across the country, adding that “who is responsible for the case of abducting of people in central zone high?”

He said that according to report one of the abducted people has been killed by abductors.

Pointing to the issue of abducting of passengers in central provinces highway, another legislator Sayid Ali Kazemi said that “if the government takes measure for solution of abducting cases, people will be witness of discord and tribal crisis in the area.”

Government must foster security and prevent abducting of passengers in highways, he underlined.
