NDS captures 16 Haqqani commanders

AT-KABUL: National Directorate of Security announced Wednesday it has captured sixteen key commandersof the feared Haqqani Network in southern Paktia province, which is fighting the Afghan forces alongside the Taliban.

Intelligence operatives’ special unit targeted Haqqani insurgents in Jani Khil district of Paktia. Some 16 commanders linked to Haqqani Network were killed and 11 others wounded, said the statement.

Haji Mullah, Mullah Asad, Fedaiee, Khatarnak and Ayobi commanders of the Haqqani terrorist networks were among the killed terrorists, added statement. Five vehicles and eleven motorbikes belonging to insurgent commanders were destroyed in the operation.
