Six soldiers kidnapped in ceasefire violation by Taliban

AT-KABUL: Violating their three-day ceasefire, the Taliban insurgents in the last day of truce, came up to the fore with another act of violence and kidnapped six Afghan National Army soldiers in Ghazni province, provincial official said.

Ghazni governor’s office in a statement said Taliban dishonored their commitment and kidnapped six soldiers in Andar district on Sunday (the last day of truce).

The kidnapping occurred when Afghan security forces and Taliban members were celebrating Eid days together by clicking pictures, and hugging each other.

Moreover, the militant also seized a Humvee in Sultan Bagh area of the district.

Afghan security forces have fully honored ceasefire and restrained from reciprocate action while large number of Taliban members were roaming freely in cities and towns under government control.
