Special operation Forces’ division promoted to Corps level

AT-KABUL: After a four-year development plan, the army special forces’ detachment expanded to Special Operations Corps today (SOC).

“Expanding the formation and commandos the SOF changed to SOC,” said a Press statement issued by Ministry of Defense (MOD).

The Special Operation Corps was inaugurated with the presence of President Ashraf Ghani, Actomg Ministers for Defense and Interior ministries, Head of National Directorate of Security US and RS commanders.

General Besmellah Waziri was assigned as commander for the SOC.

Commando forces deserved to be expanded as a corps in order to suppress enemies in the country, said President Ghani during inauguration.

This corps will have more combatants and capability to eliminate terrorist he added.

Acting Defense Minister, while, praising well performances of the SOC forces expanding of this detachment to corps will have more effect in reinforcement of security in the country.

Commander of SOC General Besmiallah Waziri after his assigning to the corps said that he will strive hard to train advice commandos and help them to bravely combat for stability and security of the country.
