Taliban commander among seven killed in Zabul

AT-KABUL:  Commander for a group of the Taliban insurgents was killed along with six of his companions in the southern Zabul province, the Ministry of Interior said on Tuesday.

The commander has been identified as Ahmad Agha, who was active mostly in the Meezan district, where he and his comrades were killed, according to a statement issued by the ministry.

“During an armed conflict between Afghan National Police and armed Taliban, seven armed Taliban were killed including commander Ahmad Agha,” the statement said.

It added that four other Taliban insurgents were injured, while no casualties for the security forces were reported.
Taliban have not yet commented regarding the incident.
