Taliban’s shadow district chief held

AT News Report-KABUL: The intelligence operatives have arrested the Taliban’s shadow district chief for Washir district of southern Helmand province, the agency said on Wednesday.

The National Directorate of Security (NDS) in statement identified the detainee as Mohammad Nabi, son of Sayed Mohammad.

According to NDS, the detained Taliban militant was involved in several destructive activities.  Some weapons were also confiscated from his site of detention.

The detainee had confessed to spearheading a 20-member Taliban group with activities in different parts of the province.

However, there is no immediate comment from the Taliban group in this regard.
